Reasons For Gnawing Rails Of Gantry CranesReasons For Gnawing Rails Of Gantry Cranes

There are various phenomena of rail gnawing. Sometimes only one wheel gnaws rails, sometimes several wheels gnaw rails at the same time; Different rail gnawing situations have different causes.
1. The track installation is horizontally curved. When the horizontal bending of the rail of the cart is too large and exceeds the span tolerance, it will cause friction between the wheel rim and the side of the rail. When the gantry crane runs to this road section, it can be clearly found that the crane is swaying and tilting, the wheels at the high end of the track are gnawing at the outside, and the wheels at the low end are gnawing at the inside.
2. The track span error is large. After the crane is installed, the wheelbase of its traveling wheels is already a fixed value, and the track span and wheelbase should be the same. When the span of the track changes relative to the wheelbase, the wheel does not run in the middle of its tread, causing friction between the wheel rim and the side of the track to cause rail gnawing.
3. The straightness and parallelism of the track are poor. The track installation is not standardized, and the gauges at both ends are not equal. One end is large and the other end is small, which is the so-called "figure eight". When the crane runs back and forth on this section of the track, the wheels will separate Gnaw the outside and inside of the track. The loose bolts of the rail pressure plate will also cause the position of the rail to move and make it appear "serpentine". When the straightness is out of tolerance, the phenomenon of rail gnawing will also occur.
4. Serious track pollution Since the prefabrication yard mainly produces various types of concrete prestressed hollow slab girders, it is inevitable that concrete, sand, stones and other sundries will be spilled during the production process, plus the oil left over from the usual assembling and dismantling of formwork and hollow slab maintenance , water, etc. will pollute the track, so that the driving wheels are prone to slipping when the crane is running, and the crane will deviate and cause rail gnawing.
